SINGLE USE (2024)

During the Roman Empire, olive oil was shipped into Rome in amphoras - vases made with large handles that were strung up on ships to transport oil. These amphoras, after a single use, were thrown into a large pit near Rome. Estimates suggest this pit still has around 58 million amphorae in it.

This piece is a reproduction of one of these amphora - delicately glazed in a lustrous pearl.

Dimensions are 300mm x 19mm x 24mm.

Handmade In Naarm from midfire clay and glazes.
